Setting up Search Console step by step
After signing into Search Console at google.com/webmasters/tools, you need to add your websites internet address by clicking on Add a property, that the pop-up window will ask you to do. After filling in the address of your website, there are several ways of how to easily verify it. The two easiest ones are either to get the HTML tag that you can then send to us, or, if your web is connected to Google Analytics (more about that here), you can to verify your website through Analytics account.
Search Console Benefits
Google Search Console can for instance show you possible errors on your website, problems with content processing, or basic overview of keywords from Google search. Probably the most important function for you is the Search Traffic tab. Here, Google will show you where from your visitors are coming, what keywords did they use in the process and what other websites refference to you.
